Meet Dwight Lamberson – Principal at DL LeatherWorks. Custom leather

My studio is at 5206 Constitution NE, Albuquerque. Hours are 10-5 Tuesday thru Friday and 11-3 on Saturday. 

Leather has been a longtime love of mine. I started making belts in high school, put myself through college selling leather products in galleries. It is a joy to now have more professional equipment and time to do what I enjoy.

Born and raised in this enchanted state of  New Mexico, Albuquerque is my home. Because I feel so connected to New Mexico I chose to remain here and raise my family. After a gratifying career as an Economist I have once again returned to leather work.

I put  myself through college making belts, sandals, wallets, purses and  doing special/custom leather projects and leather goods. Over the years I maintained a shop  in my garage and continued to dabble in leather. With retirement came an opportunity to pursue  my craft, and return to the art of design and collaboration in leather.

I have set up shop with the professional tools of the trade  to do things I've previously dreamed of, which has allowed me to build an inventory of a variety of products including handbags, belts and portfolios.

It is important to me that I use the best of materials whether it be the leather, buckles, and all accessories in the shop. These leather products are made to last and be enjoyed – they are made with love. Everything I sell is handmade in this shop.
